At Jaxx, the planet has been important to us since the beginning. This is actually how our story started. Here in Atlanta we are surrounded by industry. One key bi-product of our local industry is foam scrap. When we started, we wanted a fun solution to the problem. Jaxx is that solution, and for years we have continued to build on that idea.

Typical scrap from foam cutting

We start with the remnants of the foam cut in our factory and much of the greater Atlanta area. The scrap is what is left between products cut out of a larger block, or bun as we call it. This scrap comes in many colors, shapes and sizes, but it is all new (not from used products!) polyurethane cuts. Once we have the foam, we sort it, clean it, and then the fun part… shred it!

Foam Shredder!

Once the foam is shredded, it is ready for sorting into various sizes for use in our bags. Of course, our bags are rather large, so we needed a solution for shipping efficiently. Once again, we had a problem to solve. Solution: vacuum bags! That’s right, just like you see on TV. We compress both with vacuum and physical force. So, when you buy a bag, you get a kit. Open the kit, let it expand, and you have a full bag. Don’t worry. It’s easy!

This full sized bag of foam turns into...

This pint sized cube of compressed foam!

We know we are not saving the world, but we are doing what we can, and we are proud of that! As we continue to build our business here at Jaxx, we will continue to innovate. I can assure you, our pipeline of ideas is only getting bigger. You can expect more great things from our young team, so keep checking back to see what is changing.

Studio OneUp is the maker of the Jaxx line of Bean Bag chairs. Jaxx bean bags are offered in a wide variety of styles including the original bean bag shape, loungers which are more elongated, cocoons, and PillowSaks. Jaxx products use designer fabrics and are made in US factories! They offer very competitive low prices and even offer FREE Shipping on all orders! (48 Lower US States, Ground Shipping only). They offer a Jaxx Gamer bean bag chair that is great for kids for just $50! Studio OneUp also cares about the environment with the idea that nothing should go to waste! They re-purpose and use materials that would otherwise go to waste but that still meet their standards of being high quality, washable, and functional too! Check out all the ways they are eco-friendly!

Setting up the Jaxx PillowSak

I received a Jaxx PillowSak to review. When I was looking through the Jaxx line of bean bags I was very drawn to this pillow style of chair as it looked so innovative and like it would fit my needs perfectly! I wanted a bean bag chair that might offer a bit more back support so I could sit more upright in the chair for playing video games, reading a book, or even just socializing. The PillowSak did just that, but can be used in so many other ways that it really is a very innovative shape! My boys loved to push it over to a pillow shape and jump onto the bag. My husband wanted to sprawl out on it like a bed. And I loved it as a more traditional bean bag chair, but with the extra support. I choose their Pebble Glacier cover as I really wanted to see and feel their Pebble fabric! It is SO soft and has a nice subtle texture look and feel to the cover. I have to say we all really love our Jaxx PillowSak and I really like how it is just 32 pounds so it is not unreasonably heavy to move around and switch it up into different positions!

Fun for lounging, pretend sleeping, and JUMPING!

Jaxx Bean Bags have some really neat features that, as a mother, I really appreciate! First, the bean bag comes with an inner protective liner to keep all the foam in place. Then, it has a tamper-proof zipper where you literally snap off the zipper pull to keep your little ones from being able to get into the foam. You can get back in by using a paperclip as the pull if you ever needed to. Also, the outer cover is removable and machine washable! Plus, the inner foam contents make for a super comfy bean bag chair that we all fight for turns on! The PillowSak in bean bag form fits one adult comfortably or 2-3 children.

You can save an extra 15% with the code SAVE at checkout! The Jaxx PillowSak starts at just $180 and with their free shipping and 15% discount you can score this super comfy bean bag for just $153! (Plus any applicable taxes). Studio OneUp has a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee for up to 60 days after your purchase. Their workmanship is also guaranteed from defects for 3 years!

Disclosure: I received a Jaxx PillowSak for free in order to try the product and form an opinion for this review. I was not compensated in any other manner. The opinions expressed above are my own and any claims should be verified on the sponsor’s site. Thank you to the sponsor for allowing me to review their products!

That means that for most colleges and universities, back to school is just a little over a month away. Whether it’s freshman year or senior year, now’s a great time to start thinking about dorm room layout. Just like Jaxx products can turn a spare bedroom into a multipurpose room, so too can they fill multiple roles in a dorm room.

The furniture composition in an average dorm room consists of a bed, desk, office chair and a love seat, papasan or futon. This is pretty limiting, but most people think that’s the best they can do given the small space. The desk and bed are standard issue with the room, so let’s think about the seating. College is a time for fun and sometimes friends crash in other friend’s rooms after a late night of socializing or studying. Futons are extremely uncomfortable, papasans don’t allow you to lay flat and a love seat is too short for most people.

Instead of those three options, try a Jaxx Club Lounger or a Jaxx Grand Lounger instead. At six feet long, the Jaxx Club will fit into the same space as a love seat or futon. Because it’s not rigid, it can also squeezed into a smaller space. The same thing goes for the Grand Lounger – even though it’s 7.5 feet long, it can squeezed into a slightly smaller space as well. The Jaxx 6ft Sac may also work nicely.

The advantage of these products is that they are way more comfortable than the alternatives and more easily double as a guest bed. If you squeezed the product into a smaller space, just pull it out into the open and allow it to expand for a longer sleeping space. These two products also make for great, adjustable seating that will keep friends returning for the best seats on campus. And while you can’t pull your futon or loveseat around the room, Jaxx products are easily portable for seating wherever you may need it for a given occasion. Have a little extra space somewhere? Throw in a Jaxx Palermo for cool, comfy and portable seating.

Instead of a traditional desk chair, consider a Jaxx Solo. Filled with traditional polystyrene beads, it has a classic bean bag feel. More importantly, the beads allow you to mold the product into different shapes. Once you sit down, they collect into a dense, yet comfy mass that maintains it’s shape. This makes it ideal for sitting at chair height because you won’t sink into it. Its versatility also means you won’t be stuck using it only as a desk chair. Lay it flat for a place to read on the floor or turn it into comfy seating for visitors. It’s also very light, making it ideal for travel to other dorm rooms for your own special place to sit when visiting friends. All Jaxx products come in a variety of stylish colors so they are easy to match up to any style or decor – even in a dorm room. And don’t stop with these suggestions – the site is filled with possibilities!

We all know that having kids is one of the most expensive decisions that we can make in life. We find ourselves needing to constantly buy new clothes to accommodate their growth – not to mention new furniture, especially in their younger years. As they grow older, their tastes change as well. What was once cool when they were eight can be mighty lame once they are teens. How can we navigate this sea of unending change without breaking the bank in the process?

Fortunately, the Jaxx product line was designed with versatility in mind. The single greatest pro of owning a Jaxx in this context is your ability to change the outer cover. That’s right – at any point in time you can visit our site and purchase a different color or style outer cover by itself. This is perfect if your daughter once loved pink but now thinks it’s too childish for her “grown up” room. It’s also great if you or your child decides to remodel the room with fresh new colors to reflect his or her changing personalities. Rather than toss out your Jaxx, just get a new cover. It might not be a bad idea just to have a few different color options on hand sitting in your closet, especially if your kids just can’t make up their minds about their favorite colors.

The other thing to keep in mind is that many Jaxx Products, like the PillowSak and Cocoon, are moldable into different shapes. In one form, they might serve as a couch, in another, a spare bed – or just a traditional beanbag-like seat (just much more comfy!) This means that as your child’s room evolves and he or she gets new furniture and lays things out differently, the Jaxx can change its role in the room. Your middle schooler may have loved his or her Jaxx as a gaming chair, but as a high schooler might need to make room for a new desk. Depending on what Jaxx product you own, it could very easily become a stylish chair for that desk that actually promotes better posture than a traditional office chair because it’s more difficult to slouch in.

As your kids grow older, keep things cheaper by purchasing furniture that can grow and change with them. For advice on what Jaxx product is best for your needs, read about the different products on the site to get an idea of just how many options each one has. Or feel free to call our customer service line for real time advice!
